Day 1 - Honeymoon traveling

Mark and I went to the fair on Saturday, with the rest of the family.

We tried lots of fair food: triple burger on a Krispy Kreme donut, chipotle ribs, bacon wrapped turkey leg, deep fried birthday cake, zucchini fries, cheesy bacon bombs, stuffed fried mushrooms, fried frog legs (only Mark had that, obviously) - plus the normal ice cream treat and orange Julius. Luckily, there was a lot of family members to share all that food with!

After we stuffed ourselves, Ate Cheryl dropped us off at the airport. Here started our long journey to Cozumel, Mexico!! Our flight was the red-eye to Atlanta, where we had a 5 hour layover to Cozumel. Sleep was hard to get.. and the wait seemed pretty long, but finally, we made it!

Another short wait for our room to be ready, but we were able to have a buffet brunch. We are staying the first three nights on Cozumel island at Cozumel Palace. It sits right on the water, with some nice pools, and an outdoor bar. The hotel employees are very attentive and always making sure you have a drink - which Mark and I have taken advantage of.

We get into our room and it overlooks the ocean front. Gorgeous!!

We have a hammock on the balcony! Mark was super excited to see that. Also, we've got a sweet Jacuzzi tub in the room too!

Since our first day started so late, we decided to just hang around the pool until dinnertime. Luckily there was NO RAIN. When I started looking at the weather here a couple days ago, all you saw was thunderstorms the ENTIRE week. I was pretty bummed and told Mark about it too. However, the weather was great! Partly cloudy and it's warm and humid, so no issues here.

They have three restaurants here for dinner: Mexican, Italian, and Japanese. We picked Japanese and loved it! They have several types of rolls for buffet sushi here, plus more types to order a la carte. They had a Philadelphia roll at the buffet that had SUPER big pieces of smoked salmon. SO GOOD! I ended up eating too fast to take any pictures of food - haha!

After getting enough to eat, we were so tired from traveling, we ended up turning in early. Gotta rest up for the rest of the week! :)

Love, Mr. and Mrs. Frilles!
